About Me

Editor in Chief Marcy Mendelson is a photographer and dancer living in California. She was inspired to start Root as a response to the interests and needs of the ethnic dance community. Her dance education includes Samba, Afro-Brazilian, West African, Afro-Haitian and Flamenco (to name a few!). Her photography has been shown on both coasts of the United States. She continues to shoot travel, portrait and performance around the world.
